Edith Marie Smith

1927-2017

Stewartsville, MO….Edith Marie Smith, age 89, was born September 16, 1927 in Horse Cave, KY, the daughter of Glen and Ruby (Blair) Davis and passed away March 8, 2017 in Cameron, MO.

Marie and John Smith were united in marriage May 26, 1952 in Yuma, Arizona.  To this union five children were born.  John was the love of her life and they spent 65 blessed years of marriage together.  She was a member of Culbertson Chapel United Methodist Church and Order of Eastern Star.

Marie enjoyed reading, shopping, dancing and exotic animals. Marie was a huge Kansas City Royals fan and enjoyed watching Dancing with the Stars. Most importantly she loved her family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and brother Demmie Davis.

Survivors include her husband, John Smith and five children: Dan Schmidt, Houston, TX, Wes Smith, Toulon, IL, Bren Stimston, Kansas City, MO, Linda Kay Smith, Hobbs, NM and Joseph Smith, St. Joseph, MO. She also leaves two siblings, Molly Cook and Mardyne Davis, twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Turner Family Funeral Home of Stewartsville with burial in Stewartsville Cemetery.  Visitation:  6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.  Memorial Contributions:  St. Jude’s.  Online condolences:  www.turnerfamilyfuneral.com
