David L. Meek

1936-2017

Maysville, MO……David Landon Meek, age 80, was born October 16, 1936 in Maysville, MO the son of Oscar William and Pauline Rachel (Duce) Meek and passed away May 19, 2017 in Maysville with his family by his side.

On December 20, 1958 David and Maryln June were united in marriage in Cameron, Missouri.  To this union five children were born. David farmed for many years and worked for Herzog Contracting Inc. where he retired with over 30 years of service.  After retirement David loved being on the farm, running errands for the boys, and working part time with the Township operating the road grader.  He was a wonderful father and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Maryln; parents; son, David Meek Jr. ; siblings, Homer, Annah, Inez, Fern, Carl, Myrtle, Faye, Oscar Jr., Emmett, Leith, and Thelma.

Survivors include five children, Deborah (Toby) Schneider, Leslie (Missy) Meek, Ronnie (Julie) Meek, Cherrie (Larry) Sample, and Patricia Meek; grandchildren, Kayla Schneider, Logan and Katelyn Sample, Amy (Jim) Ford, Chelsy & Sydney Meek, Chad Parrish & Ryan Meek; great-grandchildren, Brody, Zoey, Shelby & Ethan; brother, Ernest Meek and a host of other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Turner Family Funeral Home of Maysville with burial in Oak Lawn Cemetery of Maysville.  Visitation:  6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions:  Oak Lawn Cemetery. Online condolences:  www.turnerfamilyfuneral.com
