Francis William “Poppy” Wiedmaier
1937-2018
Maysville, MO…….Francis W. Wiedmaier, 81, of Maysville, Mo., went to be with the Lord, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday morning, June 20, 2018 at Cameron Regional Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held at Turner Family Funeral Home, Maysville, Mo. on Friday, June 22, 2018 at 7:00 pm., with Pastor Chase Roberts officiating.
Visitation will be held two hours prior, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. A private family inurnment will follow @ a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Turner Family Funeral Home of Maysville, Mo.
Francis was born on January 27, 1937, in Hurlinger, Mo., to Letha (Cooper) and Gilbert Wiedmaier. On October 3, 1959, he was united in marriage to Carol Jean Wilhelm. Three children were born to this union.
Francis was a lifelong truckdriver, working for Seitz, Johnson Controls, Ruan, and various others.
Anyone that knew “Poppy”, knew of his great love for his grandchildren, and that he was a “superfan”, of the local sports teams.
He enjoyed cooking for his friends and family. Francis never met a stranger and will be truly missed by many.
Francis is survived by his beloved wife, Jeannie, of the home. Children: Shawn (Margo) Wiedmaier, Todd Wiedmaier, & Gae (Gary) Kolb. Grandchildren: Christopher Wiedmaier, Bradi (Jordan Bennett) Kolb, Erica (Mike Ross) Wiedmaier, Brennan (Kelsey Wood) Kolb, Sarayah Wiedmaier, Blayke Kolb & Blayne Kolb. Great grandchildren: August Rain Bennett, Bleu River Bennett, and Naomi Wiedmaier. Siblings: Janet (Al) Haverkamp, Yvonne Pfleiderer, Robert Wiedmaier, Ronald Wiedmaier, Edwin Wiedmaier, Gilbert Wiedmaier Jr., Donald Wiedmaier, Diane Crouse (George), Nancy Garton, and Willie (Diana) Wiedmaier. Special friends: Tony Webber and Mack and Maggie McBrayer, numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James Wiedmaier.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: The Maysville F.F.A. Chapter, or Maysville H.S. Athletic Dept. in care of the Funeral Home.

I did not know Francis but do know several of his brothers and sisters. My sympathy to the entire family.

So sorry for the loss of Frank. I always enjoyed seeing him from way back when we lived on the farm.
Crazy timing for 2 such caring, generous men. Neither one knew a stranger. I will never forget Hainey cooking us dinner by kerosene lantern shortly after moving here, some 30+ years ago, during the many power shortages. Frank will be missed.
