Betty L. Griffin

1930-2018

Stewartsville, MO- Betty Lenora Griffin, 87, passed away on July 8, 2018 at her home.

Funeral service will be held at Turner Family Funeral Home of Stewartsville, on Thursday, July 12 at 6 p.m., with Rev. Chris Hurst officiating.

Christian burial will follow at Stewartsville Cemetery.

There is no scheduled visitation.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Turner Family Funeral Home of Stewartsville, Missouri.

Betty was born in N.W. Missouri to Virgil D. and Maude E. Flanagan on October 4, 1930.

On June 22, 1949, she married Jack D. Griffin.

Betty was a faithful,housewife, mom, and grandmother.

She was known as a freelance poet, writer, and storyteller.

Betty was a member of First Baptist Church.

She loved adopting wild animals such as raccoons and even at one time, had a pet deer. Betty loved her dogs and was an avid supporter of the A.S.P.C.A.

She is survived by her daughters: Kathy (Dennis) Schellhorn, Dina Griffin, Debbie (James) Langley. Sons: Ben and Jack Griffin, Sister: Barbara Wacker, 15 grandchildren and numerous great and great, great grandchildren, as well as a multitude of relatives and friends.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter in laws, Carolyn Griffin and Sherrie Botts, and a great grandson, Jacob.

Her daughter Kathy said:” Mom was one of the strongest, most resilient, women I ever knew.”

Memorial donations may be made to the A.S.P.C.A. in care of the funeral home.
