JB Shelman: In Our Care August 29, 2018
Categories: Obituaries
JB was a quiet man who loved the outdoors, in particular; he loved farming. In fact, he spent his entire life doing just that. He was always on the go in his pickup truck or on a tractor working in the fields. One could often find him walking on his land to check out his crops, feeding his cattle, or hear him discussing how the beans could really use some rain.
Besides being a farmer, he was also a veteran. JB honorably served in the Army during World War II, and he attended the University of Missouri. He eventually met the love of his life, Leda Whiteaker, and they were married for more than 50 years. Together, they had one child, a daughter, Sharon Ann.
JB was predeceased by his Father, Mother, Wife, and Daughter.
Members of the family include, his grandsons, Daniel (Heather) Sherman, of Fountaintown, Indiana; and Dave Sherman (Kim Hopwood) of Indianapolis, Indiana; great-grandchildren, David Jr, Paige, Lance, and Chase.
