In Our Care… Helen Stewart

Maysville, Mo.-
Helen Josephine (Grace) Stewart, 94, formerly of St. Joseph, passed away Dec. 29, 2018 @ Sunset Home in Maysville.

Funeral Services will be held @ Turner Family Funeral Home in Maysville on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 @ 2 p.m.

Visitation will be held one hour prior.

A private Christian Burial will follow @ Shambaugh-Cope Cemetery in Weatherby, Mo.

Helen was born in Weatherby to Joseph H. and Gertrude (Channell) Grace, on February 19, 1924. She attended school in Weatherby. On July 7, 1940, she married William Gilbert Stewart. He preceded her in death on March 26, 1995. Helen worked for many years as an accountant for Montgomery-Wards. She loved shopping, always visiting every aisle. Helen was one heck of a good cook, her culinary delights including , but not limited to her famed Swedish Meatballs and Butterhorn rolls. She was a well loved, delightful lady, very strong and spoiled. Helen loved her family fiercely. She is survived by one son, Michael (Kathy) Stewart, sister, Dorothy Bromley, five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and a multitude of family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Gary and Bill Stewart; daughter, Nancy Wood; and grandson Jerry Henderson.

    My heart is breaking for the phone calls I kept meaning to make and for the loss of a an aunt that was so very kind and caring to her sister-in-law, my mother until she passed away. Aunt Helen was a dear lady full of grace and kindness and I am mourning her greatly.
