Byron Howard

1938-2019

Maysville, MO……Byron Franklin “Barney” Howard, age 81, was born February 5, 1938 in Savannah, Missouri the son of Ernest and Mildred (Chivington) Howard and passed away September 1, 2019.

Byron was a graduate of Savannah High School Class of 1957. On November 4, 1960 Byron and Linda Hilsenbeck were united in marriage. Byron loved playing and coaching fast pitch softball.  He farmed for 26 years and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his parents.  

Survivors include his wife Linda of 58 years; 3 children, Brenda (Randy) Vaughn, Maysville, MO  Marty (Brenda) Howard, Helena, MO and Sherry (Vernon) Smith, King City, MO; siblings, Ruth and Leonard Sharp, Wathena, KS, Ronnie & Vicky Howard, St. Joseph, Sandy & Mike Bomar, Amazonia, MO, and Tammy Burkman, Savannah, MO; two grandchildren, Beau (Audrey), and Danielle; two step-grandchildren, Matt (Kendra) and Jaime (Jason); two great-grandchildren, Remington & Heston; and three step-great-grandchildren, Braelyn, Hadlee, and Paxton; and last but not least-his constant companion Jerry Lee.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 5, 2019 at Turner Family Funeral Home of Maysville with burial at Rochester Cemetery.  Visitaiton:  6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.  Memorial Contributions:  Friends of the Animal Shelter or New Nodaway Humane Society.
