St. Joseph, Missouri……Susan Kay Zirkle, age 74, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 8th, 2020 under the care of Aseracare Hospice.

She was born January 1st, 1946 in St. Joseph, MO to Ivan and Dolly McGuire. she attended Benton High School and married Jack Riggs in August of 1968; who preceded her in death in September of 1977. She then met and married Roger Zirkle in March of 1990. He preceded her in death in October of 2010.

Sue’s hands were rarely still. She enjoyed crocheting and quilting blankets for every new birth in her immediate and extended families. She also shared a love for romance novels and puzzles.

She held various jobs throughout her life, till she stayed home to become a caregiver for Roger till his death.

Sue is preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Jack Riggs and Roger Zirkle; and two infant sisters.

Survivors include her three children, William (Angie) Riggs, St. Joseph, Jammie (Cary) Vaughn, Stewartsville, and Samuel Riggs, St. Joseph; siblings, Ellis McGuire, Ellen (Harold) DeShon, Clover (John) Watkins; grandchildren, Zachary Sealey, Jacob Riggs, Joshua Riggs, Jackson Riggs, Jaidyn Riggs, Danille Vaughn, Brandon Vaughn, Breaunna Vaughn; Great-Grandchildren, Adejah; & numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Private Family Funeral Services will be held under direction of Turner Family Funeral Home of Maysville. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions: American Heart Association. Online condolences: www.turnerfamilyfuneral.com

    So sorry family loss – did not have opportunity knowing Ms. Zirkle but do know her son William who has for the past several months shared his sincere care and love for his mother with her declining health.

    Praying God comfort family during your time of loss.
