Maysville, Missouri…….Samuel Everett Owen, Jr. age 91, went to be with his Lord September 25, 2021 in Maysville, Missouri.
Sam, along with his twin sister, was born August 13, 1930 the son of Samuel Everett Owen Sr. and Bessie Ann (Swope) Owen. Sam weighed one pound at birth, therefore, he had to overcome many physical obstacles throughout his lifetime.
Sam married the love of his life, Helen, on December 1, 1957 at Maysville Christian Church. To this union three children were born.
He enjoyed fishing, pitching horseshoes and working on the farm. Sam was a lifelong member of Oak Christian Church and a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Sam is preceded in death by his parents; wife Helen; and two sisters, Betty Maher and Nancy Lewis.
Survivors include three children, Samuel E. (Paula) Owen, Lawson, MO, Timothy C. Owen, Robinson, KS, and Frank Owen, Maysville, MO; four grandchildren, Tyler (Sara) Owen, Whitney (Chris) Hite, Travis (Heather) Owen, Victor (Jamie) Owen; and great-grandchildren, Austin, Riley, Jaden, Wrenn, Ryan, Emma, Beckett, Charley, and Merritt (due to be born in January); sister in law, Maude Stillfield, Maysville, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Graveside Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Maysville, Missouri with visitation thirty minutes before funeral time at the Cemetery. Thoughts & comfort to the family. I have fond memories of Uncle Sam & spending time on the farm with him & Aunt Helen. He always had a smile for everyone. He will be missed by many & remembered by all.

Sammy was a good neighbor and wonderful friend to my family. I always enjoyed my visits with him. Dad considered Sammy one of his closest friends. We will miss him.
