Cleo Basil Campbell ~ In Our Care

June 13, 1930 ~ September 30, 2021

Amity, Missouri…….Cleo Basil Campbell, age 91, passed away September 30, 2021, in St. Joseph, Missouri. 

Cleo was born the son of Basil Campbell and Pansy (Graham) Campbell.

Cleo married Doris Hickman on November 16, 1950, in Maysville, Missouri.  To this union three children were born.  

Cleo was a lifelong resident of the Amity community and farmed his entire life. He worked as the maintenance supervisor for Heartland Health Systems for some time. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and his life revolved around all of them.

Cleo is preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Alice Diane; and two (twin) great-grandsons, Matthew and Michael Buhman.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Doris, with whom he shared 70 years; two children, Marcia (Larry) Buhman of Stewartsville, MO.; and Karen (Steve) Clegg of Bowdon, GA.; four grandchildren, Lynn (Christina) Buhman; Christina (Branson) Cole; Lori (Seth) Boyer; David (Taylor) Buhman; and eight great-grandchildren, Abby Buhman; Eva Cole; Rena Cole; Ian Cole; Gabriel Boyer; Nathaniel Boyer; Alexa Buhman; Emma Buhman; and numerous cousins and friends. 

Graveside Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at the Amity Cemetery in Amity, Missouri, with visitation thirty minutes before funeral time at the Cemetery.  Friends may call on the funeral home all day Tuesday at Turner Family Funeral Home of Maysville.  Memorial Contributions:  Amity Cemetery Association or Donor’s Choice.  Online Condolences:  www.turnerfamilyfuneral.com

    We have so many fond memories of Doris and Cleo. We always looked forward to our care group meetings at thier home. Cleo will always have a special place in our hearts. Prayers and love for the family.

    We were deeply sorry to hear of Cleo’s passing. We have been blessed to have known both Cleo and Doris and their family for so many years. Cleo was a sweet and caring family man with a gentle smile. I know how hard it is to lose someone so near and dear to you. May happy memories of Cleo embrace you all at this time of sorrow.
