Joan “Jody” Marie Pearl
1954-2022
Maysville, Missouri……Joan “Jody” Pearl, age 67, was born November 17, 1954, in Cameron, Missouri the daughter of Keith and Norma (Owen) Meek and passed away April 3, 2022.
Jody was a 1973 graduate of Cameron High school. After high school Jody and Ronnie Pearl were united in marriage on November 10, 1973, at the First Christian Church in Maysville, Missouri and to this union three sons were born.
Jody worked many years for Dekalb County with the majority of those years as the collector/treasurer until her retirement. She volunteered at St. Luke’s North Hospital after moving to Smithville.
Jody loved spending time with her family and especially her two grandchildren. She always looked forward to going to Colorado to spend time with Justin, hiking mountains and spending time outdoors.
She had a smile that would light up a room and humor that would have everyone laughing. She enjoyed listening to live music and was especially fond of bluegrass and Americana. She had a loving soul that touched the lives of everyone she ever met.
She is preceded in death by her mother; Norma Jean; sister, Diane Decker; nieces, Carrie Steele and Christin Palmer.
Survivors include her loving husband, Ronnie, of the home; father, Keith Meek; sons, Brian (Elizabeth) Pearl of Kansas City, Kendall (Rachael) Pearl of Kansas City, and Justin Pearl of Colorado; sisters, Verna Meek and Janet Meek of Cameron; grandchildren, Brady and Victoria Pearl; and numerous extended family and friends.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Turner Family Funeral Home of Maysville with burial following at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery of Maysville. Visitation: 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday April 8, 2022 at the funeral home.
