Mary Margaret (McMurtrey) Murphy, age 69, passed away March 27, 2022, at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, Missouri.

Mary was born in Maysville to Wesley and Margaret (Tracy) McMurtrey on July 20, 1952. She attended high school in Maysville, graduating in 1970. Mary was united in marriage to Larry Murphy on August 22, 1970. She worked and lived in Cameron for 13 years. In 1987, she and Larry moved to Higginsville. Before retiring, she worked for a few local companies there, where she especially enjoyed the work she did in the radio controlled hobby industry and the work for the local newspaper. She spent her free time reading, watching her favorite shows and keeping up with all of her grandchildren and their numerous activities.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband Larry, her parents, her brother Dale, and her sister Lois. She is survived by her children Tracy (Benjamin) Clark of Lancaster, SC, Angela (Dan) Dierking of High Point, NC, Elizabeth Shah of Higginsville, MO, and Joseph Murphy; brother Wayne (Pat) McMurtrey, sister-in-law Carol McMurtrey, brother Robert McMurtrey; 18 grandchildren: Avery, Bryce and Nathaniel Clark, DJ, Josephine, Annabel, Cecilia, Lucy, Maximilian, Benedict, Xavier, Vincent and Sebastian Dierking, Lilly and Abe Morris, Skye Gunion, Alexis Ruhlman, and Adam Murphy; many other relatives and a host of friends.
