Rose Marie Smith

1927-2016

Maysville…Rose Marie Smith, age 88, was born May 21, 1927 the daughter of William Grant and Lela Florance (Sherry) Lewis in Stanberry, Missouri and passed away January 15, 2016 in Maysville.

Rose was raised in the Stanberry area until her parents purchased Oak Store where she met her husband, H. Frank Smith. Rose and Frank were united in marriage on April 5, 1947, and to this union three children were born; Gail, Darlene, and Allen. .

She was a passionate member of Oak Christian Church where she also sang in the choir. Rose had a unique talent for cooking, quilting, and art. She enjoyed playing golf, working at Living Hope Food Pantry and especially her family.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents; husband Frank; and son-in-law William “Bill” Andrews.

Survivors include three children, Gail Parker, Maysville, Darlene Andrews, Kansas City, and Allen Smith (Cindy), Maysville; sister, Yvonne O’Herron, Eugene, OR; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Oak Christian Church with visitation one hour prior to the service. Inurnment at Sharp Cemetery. Memorial contributions: Oak Christian Church or Sharp Cemetery. Services under the direction of Turner Family Funeral Home of Maysville.
