1935-2017
Claycomo, Missouri…..Jean (Simmons) Watkins, age 81, passed away at home Monday, February 6, 2017 after a courageous second battle with cancer.
The daughter of David and Nellie (Wilson) Simmons, Jean was born July 15, 1935 in Birmingham, England and immigrated to the United States in December, 1958. Jean immigrated to marry the love of her life, Benjamin R. Watkins, Sr. on December 21, 1958 at the Methodist Church in Stewartsville.
A wife, mother and homemaker, she is survived by her husband, Ben of the home; a son Benjamin Jr. and his wife Cindy (Gordon) of Glenaire, Missouri; and her daughter, Michele and her husband Gary Moss of Claycomo, Missouri. Jean has five grandchildren, Benjamin R. Watkins IV, David Watkins, Caleb Watkins, Andrew Watkins, and Joseph Moss; four great-grandchildren, Hope, Preston, Parker, Hunter, and Gracelyn. Jean was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Jacqueline (Jackie) Robidou.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Turner Family Funeral Home of Stewartsville with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Starfield, MO. Visitation: 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Online condolences: www.turnerfamilyfuneral.com

I’m so sorry. Jean was a wonderful lady and great neighbor. Many good memories growing up next door. She was always smiling and laughing. She will be missed. Prayers for Big Ben , little Ben & Cindy, Michele & Gary and the grands.
