Virginia P. Collins
1924-2018
Maryville, Missouri…….Virginia P. Collins, age 93, was born January 30, 1924, the daughter of Henry and Mary (VanDusen) Whitehead in Maryville, Missouri and passed away January 6, 2018 at Parkdale Manor in Maryville.
Virginia graduated from Maryville High School Class of 1943. On November 21, 1943, Virginia and Edward Collins were united in marriage in Alexandria, Louisiana. To this union three sons were born. She worked at Maryville Packing Plant, Bill Ward Outlet, and Pamida for 21 years. Virginia was Co-Owner of Collins Corner Pumpkin Center for 7 years.
She enjoyed painting, knitting and crafts, and made many quilts for her family.
Virginia is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward; son, Michael Collins; sisters, Rachel Atkins, Grace Arnold, Hazel Miller, Mary Burks, Dorthy Shell and Helen Trower; brother, Lester Whitehead; and daughter-in-law, Margie Collins.
Survivors include two sons, Edwin Collins, Rulo, NE and Wayne Collins (Bonnie), Barnard, Missouri; granddaughter, Jaime Collins, Maryville; great-grandson, Jaren Dombek; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M Wednesday at St. Patricks Cemetery in Maryville. No visitation is scheduled.
