1948-2018
Higginsville, MO…….Larry Joseph Murphy, age 69, passed away on March 3, 2018, at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Maysville, at 10:00am on Wednesday, March 7. Visitation will be held one hour prior, with The Rosary at 9:30am.
Burial will follow at St. Munchin’s Cemetery, Cameron. Memorial donations may be made to Catholic Charities in care of the funeral home.
Larry was born in rural Maysville to Wayne and Marjorie (Dewey) Murphy on March 4, 1948. He went to high school in Maysville, graduating in 1966. Larry worked and lived in Cameron for 13 years, marrying Mary McMurtrey
in 1970. In 1987, he moved to Higginsville. Before retiring, he worked in the manufacturing industry, making gunstocks in Cameron, Lexington, and Carrollton.
He was an easy going fellow, and never met a stranger.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents and infant sister, Mary Rita.
He is survived by his wife, Mary (McMurtrey), of the home; children Tracy (Benjamin) Clark of Pineville, N.C., Angela (Dan) Dierking of High Point, N.C., Elizabeth (Robert) Morris of Raytown, MO., and Joseph Murphy; sister Charlotte (Bob) Carpenter; 16 grandchildren: Avery and Bryce Clark, D.J., Josephine, Annabel, Cecilia, Lucy, Maximilian, Benedict, Xavier, and Vincent Dierking, Lilly and Abe Morris, Skye Gunion, Alexis Ruhlman, and Adam Murphy; many other relatives and a host of friends.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Turner Family Funeral Home of Maysville.
My sincere condolences to Mary, Charlotte and the rest of the Murphy Clan upon the loss of Larry. I am sure he will be missed by all and remembered by many. God Bless.
