Gladys “Chris” Pickett, 89, of Stewartsville, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2019 in St. Joseph, Mo.
Funeral service will be held at Turner Family Funeral Home in Stewartsville, Mo. on Friday, November 22, 2019 at 2 p.m.
Christian Burial will follow at the St. Joseph Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held at Turner Family Funeral Home in Stewartsville, Mo., where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Chris was born in Panama City, Florida., to John and Irene (Apostle) Christo on May 26, 1930.
She graduated Bay High School in Panama City in 1948 and went on to earn a degree from Stevens College in Columbia, Mo.
She worked as a faithful housewife and also substitute teacher.
Chris was an avid Fine China painter, winning many accolades and awards for her tremendous talent. Her beautiful renderings were also on display at the prestigious World Organization of China Painters Museum in Oklahoma, of which she was a member.
She was a member of the Presbyterian-Christian Church in Stewartsville, where she served as Sunday School teacher for many years.
Chris was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her beloved husband Dallas, of the home. They celebrated 69 years together.
Additional survivors include; son David (Vickie) Pickett, St. Joseph, daughter Lesa Summers, Arnold, MD., two brothers George and Jimmy Christo, four grandchildren Lauren (Deric) Berry, Casey (Preston) Taylor, Zoe and Max Summers, three great grandchildren Isla, Poppy, and Graham Taylor, numerous other relatives and a multitude of friends.
Chris was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Turner Family Funeral Home of Stewartsville, Mo.
Memorials may be made in her honor to : The Alzheimers Society in c/o the Funeral Home.
