We will miss hearing the rumble of your truck start up before you headed down the road. Whether you were going to DQ or to grab some lunch we knew when you were leaving and would anticipate your friendly smile and a wave. You were always quick to offer your assistance to help cut the grass or fix a headlight. We will miss your quick small talk conversations that easily turned into an hour of talking about a hundred different things. We will miss your stories about working at the prison and serving in the Air Force. We will miss the sarcastic banter with you that was all in good fun. I will never forget the first time I met you. You looked at me and told me my hair looked screwed up. I laughed and said so does yours. You laughed so hard. I knew from that moment that we would get along just fine.
You were a kind man who was the perfect combination of sweet and sarcastic.
Most of all we will miss the whistling as you walked away wishing us both “oh happy day”
