Cameron, Missouri….James Marion Scott Jr. of Cameron, Missouri went to be with his heavenly Father on May 29th, 2023, at age 92. Jim was born in Gentry County, Missouri on December 14th, 1930, to James Marion Scott (Pearl Scott) and Dorothy Nadine Fore (NB “Doc” Giles, DVM). Jim is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Barbara Salmon; brother, Tommy Scott; and grandson, Dustin Scott.
Jim attended school at Northwest Missouri State Teachers College and was devoted to his country, serving in the National Guard of Missouri and National Guard of United States from 1953~1955, and the Army of the United States from 1955~1957. Jim was stationed in Paris, France and enjoyed sharing military stories with his grandkids. Jim was a lifelong farmer and served on the Maysville R-1 board. Jim enjoyed his time working at Herzog, where the travels created many memories for Jim and Viv. In his later years, Jim spent time surrounded by his family, watching his grandkids and great-grandchildren grow. He was happy sitting in the timber and enjoying nature.
Jim is survived by the love of his life, Vivian Scott. Jim and Viv enjoyed 68 years of marriage and had three children, Scotty Clifton Scott (Terri Scott) of Maysville; Vada Lou Anglin of Kansas City; and Jerry James Scott (Mary-Ann Scott) of Osborn. My deepest sympathies to Viv, Vada, Scotty, Jerry and the whole family. Jim was larger than life and there’ll never be another one quite like him. So many good stories he and Keith could tell from their beloved Gentry County days. Again, my heart aches for you.
So sorry to hear. Prayers for all the family. He was a very special person.

Viv and family so sorry for the family’s great loss. Jack and I have many sweet, funny, and thoughtful memories, living next door, for so many years. Jim always had such a good sense of humor…thinking of the huge Maple tree, that joins our back yards. We speak many times of Jim in the back yard, refusing to cut a branch and let Jack do it. That tree is now huge and we call it Jim’s tree. Also the 4-wheeler, that he enjoyed, several years ago. Keeping all of you in our prayers for comfort and peace. ~~ Jack and Alene Briggs, Cameron, MO.
Dear Vivien and Family- Sad to hear of Jim’s passing. May you find comfort. Love, Nadine Fore Chaffin
My condolences to your family. He was a classy guy.
