Helen M. Mitchell
1928-2023

Elkland, MO….. Helen Marie (Shipp) Mitchell, 94, of Elkland, Missouri, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to spend eternity with him and her loved ones on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Helen was born September 30, 1928, in Fairport, Missouri, to Lawrence and Lovie (Lile) Shipp. She was a 1946 graduate of Maysville High School. On May 11, 1950, Helen married Kenneth Mitchell and to this union they had two sons, Vance and Bruce. She worked for many years as an office worker in Kansas City.

Her greatest joy was living for God and her family, which she loved with all her heart.

Helen is survived by her husband of 73 years; son, Vance (Julie) Mitchell; brother, Charles Shipp; grandchildren, Justin, Brandon and Kenny, seven great-grandchildren; many other relatives and a multitude of friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Bruce Mitchell; and a sister, Margaret Louise.

Funeral services will be held at Turner Family Funeral Home in Maysville, Mo. on Monday, August 21, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Jonathan Garlock officiating. Christian burial will follow at King City Cemetery, King City, Mo. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service starting at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
